Time To Redesign has had an exciting 2007 so far. In
February I completed an extensive color course and
became a One Day Certified Color Professional. I
can take a paint deck from 1,000 - 60 colors in 60
seconds, and WOW, that sure make choosing a color
easier!
In March I attended the National IRIS (Interior
Redesign Industry Specialists) conference in Nashville,
TN. Over 200 redesigners from across the country
gathered to discuss the current trends in redesign,
staging, color, and marketing. Keynote speaker, Aaron
Foster, of HGTV's hit show, FREESTYLE, shared his story
about how he became the host of that popular show.
Redesign continues to gain more and more popularity
as homeowners realize how cost effective using what you
already own is for their busy lifestyles. The power of
placement, combined with fail-proof color selection,
results in homes people love, with a price tag they can
afford.
Check out my website for a detailed description of my
services and fees.

DEAR DECORATOR |
 |
|
Dear Decorator: I have a small room that
doesn't have enough storage. Are there some ways
I can create more storage without adding more
furniture to an already small room.
Answer: Always look UP! If you have
higher ceilings you can place shelves high on
the walls. Consider installing shelves on all
the walls, about 18" down from the ceiling.
Utilizing the space above your head is always a
great way to keep a small room from feeling
overcrowded with furniture.
If you have regular 8' ceilings you can still
place some small shelves above window casings,
over closet doors, and even above the entrance
door to the room (on the inside). Depending on
how high your windows are, your space may be
limited, but you can still use this area to
display smaller items. This is a great place to
put children's stuffed animals.
If you don't have a headboard and need to
purchase one you can look for one that has
storage. If you have a desk, considering adding
a hutch above the work area. Just adding 3 or 4
shelves will give it the illusion of having a
hutch. It's easy to forget that you can decorate
UP in a room. Scan decorator magazines for ideas
on how to add more storage.

THE POWER OF COLOR
|
|
|
|
With Spring comes COLOR. You will begin to see
it everywhere. Just look in the garden
department at your local home improvement store.
Check out your favorite clothing store. You will
see almost every color of the rainbow in some
hue this spring.
Remember as a child how excited you were to
get that NEW box of crayons! The colors were so
bright and you just felt happy each time you
pulled out one to use. Color in our homes can do
the same thing. Using bright colors can create a
happy feeling, if that is what you need in your
life right now. In the same way if you need some
peace and serenity, color can bring those
feelings into your life.
What if you could paint your room 3 different
colors and see the dramatic effect it had on
your emotions, BEFORE you paint? Well now you
can see this in action . See 1 room painted 3
different colors. Click on the link below and
see for yourself.
Don't underestimate the power of
color. Don't be afraid of color. Don't
forget to use color in your decorating. But
DO call Time To Redesign to help you in your
color selections. We have a new color tool that
