Happy New Year!
As we enter this new year we recall the conception of
TIME TO REDESIGN just 2 years ago. It has been an
exciting journey making that dream come true. There
have been many people who have influenced
the "building" of our business. From instructors to
family & friends, other redesigners and our wonderful
clients we have been blessed with a successful year.
We look forward to the challenges this new year will
bring. Upcoming conferences & reunions will be filled
with ideas and inspiration for decorating and
redesigning. We can't wait to bring those ideas to you.
It was our pleasure meeting many of you and we look
forward to redesigning South Florida in 2004.

QUESTION:
How can I add some color to my decorating scheme
without spending a lot of money?
ANSWER:
The quickest way to bring color into a room is with
PAINT! Yes, paint. It's relatively inexpensive and in
just a few hours your room will be transformed into
something spectacular. Why not try painting just one
wall a bold color, such as burgundy. If you have a
chair rail, paint underneath with a complimentary color
you pull from a fabric or pattern in that room. Do you
have built in bookshelves? Try painting the back of the
unit in a contrasting color. If the bookshelves are
white choose the boldest color in your color scheme
such as Red, Hunter Green, Eggplant, etc. The
contrast will really make a statement! Or just paint an
entire room a bright color. Color can be the most
important element in determining our moods.
If you want to create a warm room, use reds, yellows &
oranges... If you need a cool room choose greens,
blues & lavenders. A north facing room needs to be
warmed up. A south facing room may need to feel
cooler. Whatever you decide to do, just remember... if
you don't like it... paint it back!
There are many tools available to help make painting
easier. From paint cans with handles, lids with a pour
spout and rollers with designs for a faux finish this can
really be a fun project. So visit your home
improvement store today and HAPPY PAINTING!!

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. Check out
our before & after photos to see what a dramatic
change takes place when we rearrange your existing
furniture.
The placement of accessories is also a key part in the
redesign process. By borrowing items found in other
areas of the home, a room can be transformed for an
entirely new look. Homeowners are often very surprised
how great a particular accessory looks in it's new
location.
Once a redesign is complete the room feels totally
new. The fact that the homeowners existing furniture
and accessories were used makes the transformation
so much more unique. A homeowner recently
commented when she first saw her redesigned room, "I
feel like a brand new person". For us that is the
ultimate compliment.

| NEW HOME DECOR IN 2004 |
 |
|
The holidays are over and the new year has begun.
It's during the process of sorting and storing our
holiday decorations that decorating is once again in the
forefront of our thoughts. While we are replacing all
those home decor items that may have been stored
during the holidays, it's possible they may appear used
and worn. Are you telling yourself it's time for a new
look. Sometimes just a few simple changes can refresh
your rooms and give you an updated look for the new
year. With a little imagination you can bring some
interest, color & texture into your home. Try several of
these tips and your home will feel renewed and
refreshed.
Lets start at the front door. It's time for a "new"
wreath. Your guests should be greeted with something
bright and cheerful. Stepping inside you notice that
the area rug in the foyer is looking a bit tattered.
Replace it with something plush and colorful.
Remember the foyer helps set the mood of your home.
The living room seems to be back in order after the
decorations have been stored away, but it just doesn't
have that "punch" you want. Try changing out your
throw pillows. How about a fresh vase of flowers?
Just 1 or 2 changes will bring this room to life. The
kitchen has produced some wonderful and delicious
meals and goodies during the holiday season. It may
need a little facelift to bring it back to life. Start by
cleaning it thoroughly and then reduce the amount of
clutter on your kitchen counters. Put away items you
don't use regularly. Bring out that beautiful bowl you
have kept hidden away and fill it with fresh lemons.
Buy some new kitchen towels. How about adding a
nice ceramic decorator soap pump... it's time to put
away that unsightly dish soap bottle. A nice live green
plant is always a nice touch in the kitchen.
Now for some of the forgotten areas of the home.
Let's see about sprucing up the powder room a bit.
Many of your guests will visit there so be sure you
have some nice guest hand towels. They are
inexpensive so why not splurge and get those really
plush fancy ones with the fringe. What about adding a
small lamp. The overhead lighting is usually too bright
and harsh. We like to see a warm glow when we look
into the mirror, right? Don't forget the Bedroom. Even
though guests may not visit there it's important to
pamper yourself. A few aromatherapy candles can help
you reduce stress and relax before bedtime. What
about a new set of sheets. Crisp new sheets are
always a nice touch in your bedroom. Maybe add a
few new pillows to the bed ensemble. Bring in more
color to brighten your mood.
Last but not least, is the patio or sun porch. How
about watering those plants or even replacing them.
Some seasonal flowers in bloom will make this room a
happy, inviting area. Fresh flowers are always nice and
please, get some new placemats to use the next time
you entertain outside. In Florida this is the best time of
year for using your patio. For you Northerners, just
think, you will be all ready for Spring! We hope you will
find these tips useful and 2004 will be year filled with
decorating dreams come true for each of you.
