Dear Julie,
We are excited about the new year! As our business grows
we continue to meet the most wonderful people. No matter
what your style, budget or decorating dilemma, we are here
to help. This past year we have worked with couples,
singles, working families and retiree's. From mobile homes
to multi million dollar mansions, we have found each home a
challenge and pleasure to decorate.
We'd like to thank all of our clients for their business,
referrals, and most of all, the opportunity to meet them and
work in their homes. We can't think of anything more
rewarding than when we hear positive feedback from our
clients. As your families change and grow, let us know if we
can be of any additional help to you.
Happy New Year! Julie & April

"MY HOME'S NEW YEARS RESOLUTION" |
 |
|
I was thinking the other day what if my walls
could talk & what would they be saying to me?
Maybe it's time to think about a new years
resolution for my home. What changes could I make to
bring my home into the new year? If I listened
closely enough, I might hear this.
- I'm so tired of looking at the ceiling.
Please move me to another wall...."mirror over
fireplace"
- My back is tired of leaning on this wall.
Can't I be angled in that corner?......"the
sofa"
- I miss my sister. Please move me next to
her.... "the chair"
- I can't hear what everyone is talking about.
I'd love to move closer to the furniture
below..."the artwork"
- I can't get to the other side of the room. I
need a bridge. Please bring in an area
rug..."the furniture"
- I haven't been outside in years. I miss the
trees. Where is all the greenery?..... "the
room"
- It's so dark in here. I'm working overtime
to light the opposite corner. Where are my
cousins, the floor lamp and uplight?...... "the
table lamp"
I realized that my room really could use a
redesign, so I got to work. By angling the sofa,
adding an area rug and placing my matching chairs
together the room had a cozy conversation area. Then
I added some much needed lighting. Once I moved the
mirror to the foyer and lowered some of my artwork,
things were starting to make sense. The room felt so
much cozier. After adding a few pieces of greenery,
the room was grinning from wall to wall.... I should
have done this ages ago. I bet my walls are talking
up a storm now! And I'm happy too!
I just know this is going to be a great year!

DEAR DECORATOR |
 |
|
Dear Decorator:I'm always hearing that
each room should have an element of the unexpected.
I need some ideas that will help me in this area.
Answer: Adding something unexpected is a
great way to bring interest to a room. Not only will
it be a great conversational element, but it will
give you a chance to show off your personality in
your home's decor. Here are a few ideas.
- Hang empty decorative frames (without glass)
to form a grouping
- Use decorative plates to frame a window or
archway
- A golf club makes a great curtain rod
- Hang a piece of artwork low on a wall... in
an unexpected place.
- Paint an accent wall a bright or dark color
- Use a fishing creel as a kindling basket
- Decorate a plain lampshade with silk flowers
or leaves
- Separate a large room into 2 areas with
several screens
- Use wooden picket fencing as a headboard
Look around your home. Is there something you
could use in another way? Look through magazines and
you'll likely find some interesting and unique
decorating ideas that will help add an element of
the unexpected to your home.
