Dear Julie,
Spring is our favorite time of the year. The weather
is so pleasant and we love having the windows open and
feeling the breeze blowing through the house. Everything
feels fresh and crisp and as we look around our homes,we
realize things may be looking a little tired and worn
after the the holidays and cooler weather. We're ready
for something new and exciting in our home's decor.
Ask yourselves these questions? What if I can't
afford to buy anything new? Where do I start? What can I
change to make the biggest impact? Here are a few simple
ideas to help you get started.
WHERE DO I START? Start at the front exterior
entry way. Buy a NEW welcome mat. Add a spring wreath
and ff you have double doors, hang TWO wreaths for
balance. Paint the front door if it is faded and tired
looking.
WHAT IF I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY ANYTHING NEW?
Eliminate anything that is tired and worn. Re-arrange
your furniture and change out some accessories from one
room to another.
WHAT CAN I CHANGE TO MAKE THE BIGGEST IMPACT?
How about re-painting those "beige" or "white" walls?
Paint is inexpensive and it's the best way to make a
dramatic difference in any room. Be brave and try
something bold like RED, or GOLD or GREEN.... have fun
and remember.. if you don't like it, you can always
paint it back!
Happy Decorating! Julie & April

DEAR DECORATOR |
 |

Dear Decorator:I am puttng my house on
the market and noticed you list Real Estate
Staging as one of your services. What
exactly is Real Estate Staging? Why should I
hire you and how much will it cost?
Answer:Real Estate Staging is simply
this. Preparing your home for sale so it will
appeal to a wide range of buyers. Think of
it as setting a stage. You are selling a
lifestyle to potential buyers. When your home is
in Real Estate Ready condition a buyer will be
drawn in to the lifestyle that you are offering
them. It's about un-decorating and editing
personal items from the home. A buyer needs to
see themselves living in your home. You have
become a homeseller and are no longer a
homeowner. Emotions play a big part in the
decision of buying a home. It's important to
appeal to each buyers sense of sight, taste,
smell, sound and yes, even touch.
As a buyer walks through your home you want
them to SEE a clean, open home. Smell is
one of the most important senses we have and you
do NOT want them to SMELL your animals! A
nice scented candle or fresh baked chocolate
chip cookies will go a long way in waking up
their sense of smell. The SOUND of soft
music in the background might say romance or
peacefullness to a buyer. Give them one of those
cookies to remind them of grandma's house. Soft
fluffy towels in the bathrooms or a nice soft
rug in the family room will awaken their sense
of TOUCH.
Time To Redesign has professional Real
Estate Stagers that will evaluate your home and
give you suggestions of improvements needed to
prepare your home for sale. Consultation's are
$100.00 per hour. If you want our Stagers to
move the furniture, edit and place the remaining
accessories, you can hire them by the hour, with
a 2 hour minimum.
