EASY NO SEW WINDOW TREATMENTS

Is your laundry room window bare?  How about your bathrooms?   Don’t forget these area’s when planning for window treatments. They aren’t difficult to do yourself!  In fact, they can be very EASY.  All you need is some common items you probably have around your house and you can create inexpensive and easy window treatments for some of those hard to decorate rooms in you home.  Here are a few suggestions to get you started.

For all treatments you will need a decorative curtain rod or café rod, installed.  Most treatments are meant for decoration and not intended for privacy.

CLOTH DINNER NAPKINS

Cloth dinner napkins, rubber bands, café clips, tassels,  ribbon, raffia, or other embellishment.

Depending on the size of the window, fold 3, 5 or 7 dinner napkins into triangles and hang over the rod.   Quick & Easy!

Variation – add to each end another napkin gathered together with a rubber band and a café clip.  Attached the clip to rubber band on back of napkin, slip over rod & cover the rubber band in the front with ribbon or embellishment. (greenery, flowers, grapes, butterflies, etc)

Variation:  Use the matching napkins, folding in triangle (see instructions above) on a rod at top of window.  Use the placemats on a rod at the center of the window to create a café effect.

TABLE RUNNERS

36” Table Runners

60” Table Runners

36” table runners (one side solid & one side print) – 3, 5 or 7, enough to cover window.  Fold in ½ lengthwise and hang over rod, with printed side showing in the front.  Gather the front and tie with ribbon.  The printed side will be tied and the solid side will be the background.

3-36” 2 sided table runners & ribbon

60” table runner (soft, not too stiff) & 11 café clips.  If window is smaller than 60” this works great!  Hang the table runner lengthwise using café clips.  Put first clip in middle, then the 2 ends, and place 4 clips between each.   If the runner has tassels, fold the runner toward the front to let them hang down on the ends.
