SPRUCE UP YOUR HOME FOR SPRING

Spring is here! Now is the TIME TO REDESIGN…. Your home, that is. Springtime brings us warm sunshine, beautiful flowers, and singing birds. We want our home to reflect our happy mood and there are some easy ways to do just that. Making subtle changes in our home’s décor is easy. An inexpensive way to start the process is to open the curtains & drapes and wash those windows! Continue "sprucing up your home" with these additional ideas.

#1. Change your artwork. If you have dark paintings that reflect autumn or winter, try changing them for something bright & colorful. Choose prints that reflect flowers, birds, or other spring themes.

#2. Switch your everyday dishes to lightweight colorful designs. This will help your heavier dishware last longer and also have a fresh new look for spring. Also, put away any brass or pewter and bring out your crystal.

#3. Display colorful fruits such as lemons, limes, or oranges in decorative bowls. This will not only add color but a wonderful fragrance to your home.

#4. Replace any dark, heavy, lampshades to lighter weight, neutral-colored ones.

#5. If you have area rugs that are dark, try replacing them with patterns that are light, airy, and spring like.

#6. Nothing says springtime like fresh flowers. Place them throughout your home for a burst of beauty and fragrance.

Also, remember to clear away the clutter from the holidays, including all those magazines and papers that may have been piling up. Think of it like this. In the winter we layer our clothing to keep warm and in the spring less clothing is required. Use the same concept when editing your home’s décor for spring. Keep things simple and uncluttered for an airy, open feeling.
