When Julie Martelo sets
out to redesign a home, she combines her love of decorating with
a wealth of
experience that equals EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS! More than 300
clients in the past five years will attest to her creative
talent and outstanding personal attributes. She's prompt,
professional, and personable. Her goal is to make clients’
visions of dreamy home interiors a reality.
"While interior redesign relies on innate talent and creativity,
there are also many technical elements that are applied, from
space planning and lighting to color selection and creative
accenting,” Julie says. “Shopping the home is one of the most
rewarding parts of the redesign process. Clients are so amazed
at what I find and where I place it."
Julie holds a degree in interior design from Sheffield School of
Interior Design in New York City. She is a Certified Interior
Redesigner and a Certified Interior Staging Specialist, Julie is
a member of Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (I.R.I.S.),
the One Day Decorators Alumni Association (O.D.D.A.A.), The
Society of Decorating Professionals (SDP) and the Manatee County
Association of Realtors. Julie is diligent in continuing her
education, attending regular workshops around the country,
providing her clients with the latest interior redesign
applications. She recently received her One Day Certified Color
Professional designation, completing the Art & Science of Color
course in Jacksonville, Florida.
On a personal note, Julie will tell you that her love of
interior design began at an early age and she has been
demonstrating these gifts throughout her life. One of her
earliest “sparks” was witnessing a neighbor’s high school
project of turning a shoe box into a living room, complete with
handmade furniture, draperies and rugs. Fully intrigued, Julie
created her own designer living room during her High School Home
Economics class, and the rest is history.
Her husband Jorge will tell you – “I never walk into a dark
house after a business trip because Julie will surely have
rearranged the furniture again!”
In between redesigning homes for clients seeking a new look and
homeowners and Realtors staging their homes for sale, Julie
continues to practice her art. I am always redesigning my own
home and helping close friends and relatives with theirs.
